Carl Williams buried(resting place)

GANGLAND kingpin Carl Williams will remain buried in a pauper's grave because his family can't afford a headstone.

Williams was buried at Keilor Cemetery on April 30 last year, only metres from the pristine grave of slain hitman Andrew "Benji" Veniamin, reported the Herald Sun.

Buried in his favourite jeans inside a $50,000 gold-plated coffin, Williams' final resting place is now a pile of mud, littered with dead flowers, a broken candlebox and an empty marble monument bearing his name.

Williams, who was convicted of four murders and crowned himself "The Premier" because he believed he ran the state, was bludgeoned to death inside Barwon Prison maximum-security unit on April 19.
